Full Moon Self Care Ritual for December

The full moon in December falls on the 3rd of this month at 16.46, GMT+1.  This full moon is in Gemini, the sign of communication, our instinct is to communicate, think, and learn under the influence of Moon in Gemini. The full moon in Gemini also gives us an opportunity to shine light on any area of our life where we may be saying (or thinking) one thing yet doing another. Gemini also represents our inner child and so presents us with a great opportunity to balance and release any pain from our childhood.

It is a perfect time to take stock of the year and appreciate everything that you have achieved and then begin to create your visions for the coming year.  Take a moment to complete this short ritual which will help you to connect to your inner child, appreciate your achievements and focus on your manifestations for 2018.

It is best to do this during the full moon on the 3rd December but no more than 72 hours later when the moon energy is at it's most transformative.

You will need a pen and three sheets of paper, a candle, an insence stick or some sage.

Find a comfortable place where you won't be disturbed. Sit comfortably.  

Take a moment to connect to your breath and the present moment. Breathe in to the count of 4 and out to the count of 6. Begin to connect to your inner child, focus on your heart space and allow your inner child to speak to you. Listen, allow them to be heard, allow any worries or trauma that they are holding come to light. Keep breathing as you connect.  Reassure your inner child that they are taken care of, that you are looking after them now. Allow their worries to dissapate as you begin to come back to yourself.  Keep them safe in your heart.

When you are ready open your eyes.  Light your candle and insence stick or sage and use it to cleanse your energy field or aura by waving it around your body for a few moments. 

Take your pen and first sheet of paper and write down everything that your inner child would like you to release. Connect to her again if you need to and let her speak. Put the paper to one side.

Take your next piece and write "What have I achieved this year?"  Take some time to write down all your achievements, anything that comes to mind however small or insignificant it might feel. When you feel you have written all you need to put it to one side

Take your last piece of paper.  Write "What am I manifesting for 2018?" at the top of this page.  Now imagine that you are at the end of 2018 and begin to write all that you are manifesting as though it has already happened.  Allow your heart to speak freely. Be very clear as to what you are making space for, the Universe loves clarity.  Allow yourself to really dream. This is the time for miracles.

Once you have finished spend some time reconnecting to your breath, come back to your inner child and reassure her that you are releasing and taking care of her pain.  Repeat the breathing exercise holding her in your heart space. 

You can end the ritual by burning the paper with everything that you are letting go of for your inner child with your candle, be safe and make sure you have something to catch the paper if you are doing this, such as a clay plantpot.

Take your "What have I achieved and What am I manifesting" papers and put them in a sacred space, you can create a small altar with a few things that are precious to you, photos of loved ones, candles, a crystal, some flowers. Read the achievements paper whenever you feel less than yourself.  Come back to the manifesting paper every day until the end of the year to reaffirm what you are creating space for in 2018.
